ADEM Elections – January 2017

“The Assembly District Election Meetings (ADEMs) are held every two years (Saturday, January 7 or Sunday, January 8 of 2017) to elect 7 women and 7 men to be Assembly District Delegates (ADDs) for their area.ADDs are responsible for planning and attending informational meetings throughout the region and working with other delegates to represent their community.” *

That description is a bit understated. These delgates are the people who will be selecting the candidates who will be endorsed during the 2018 election cycle. These delgates are the ones who will help determing the future of the California Democratic Party. These elected delgates are important.

The Placer County Democratic Party will be hosting the ADEMs for Assembly District 6 at their Headquarters building located at 699 Washington Boulevard, Roseville, California. All registered Democrats are encouraged to attend these local ADEM elections to help select these delegates.

As Latinos, it’s important to support candidates, especially Latino candidates, to help ensure that our viewpoints are considered when the State Democratic Party sets its platform for the next election. With the just concluded November election, we have seen that Latinos, and all minorities, need to be vigilant for the possible erosion of hard-won gains such as:

  • Drivers Licenses for undocumented drivers
  • Access to healthcare by all residents of California
  • Access to affordable higher education loans
  • Overtime pay for all workers in California

The Placer County Latino Democratic Party has several members who will be running in this upcoming election. We encourage your support for these fine people. These candidates are:

  • Rene Aguilera, and
  • Rolando Diaz

Please visit our Endorsements page to read the full text of our endorsement of these candidates.
